The Nottingham Pagan Meetup Group was started in March 2007 by Shrimpy. It was intended merely to gather a group of pagan-interested people in the Nottingham area to meet once a month at a local venue for a 'moot'. In April 2009 Shrimpy decided to stop organising the group, However she did not close the group down but invited anyone interested in taking over to do so. In early May Shrimpy gave Matt McVeigh Assistant Organiser status in the group. Matthew wanted an organisation that would hold many kinds of events for pagans, not just monthly pub meetings. The following months were not entirely a success, but in general what we were doing was appreciated and we gained members. Esme Knight's talk on the use of Tarot in magic was well received, and we had a couple of great visits to the stone circle of Arbor Low in the Peak District. The group benefited from the admission of several new members who were well-established pagans on the Nottingham scene with energy and enthusiasm to put some life into proceedings.
In April 2010 Matthew handed over control of the website and moot to Sarah Kay. The NPN now holds a moot on the forth Wednesday of the month in the Lincolnshire Poacher. In September 2010 the NPN held a picnic on the Forest Recreation Ground to celebrate Mabon and the first birthday of the new website. Sally-Ann led a small ritual and despite the chilly weather the picnic was well attended. After registration problems on the webs.com site the NPN moved to a new home on the 10th of April 2011.

In 2011 it was decided that the NPN should take a more active role in organising things so in June the Nottingham Pagan Network held it's first talk upstairs in the Lincolnshire Poacher. Wa Na Nee Che's talk was well received and very well attended.

NPN's trip to Arbor Low and Nine Ladies in Derby on the 30th July 2011 was attended and we held a short Lammas ritual led by Ashley at Arbor Low. On the 14th August the NPN held a picnic on The Arboretum there was a really good turn out and we had lots of new people, particularly families. After the picnic it was decided that we should investigate starting an afternoon moot for families. Zoe and Colin Etches volunteered to hold the first family moot at their house on the 17th September 2011. The Family and Nottingham moots both grew in size after the first meeting and continue to be successful.

In October 2011 Bex Harper and the Nottingham Pagan Network decided to start an outreach project that allows NPN to help the wider community. The first project took place in November and December 2011 and was a Yule gift box appeal for Nottingham women’s shelters. Initially we were aiming to donate boxes to two refuges but the response was overwhelming so we selected three shelters: WAIS Zola refuge, NCHA Umuada refuge and Notts Women’s Aid refuge. In total, with donations from many people across the Nottingham Pagan Network we managed to donate gift boxes/packages for every woman and child in the three shelters, as well as also donating three bags of women’s clothing, a bag of women’s shoes and some children’s toys to the shelters for future residents.

The Nottingham Pagan Network kicked off 2012 with three well-attended moots and followed them up with a brilliant talk by Kristian Lander. As off February 2012 the NPN is currently planning their next outreach project and helping Pagan Pride to reach moots and groups all over the country.
In March 2012 the Newark moot was handed over to the members of the moot, Matt Littlewood is still in charge of organising the moot. In April the Nottingham Pagan Network attended the Pagan Federations North East Conference. NPN shared a stall alongside the Centre For Pagan Studies/ Doreen Valiente Foundation and Pagan Pride. At Pagan Pride 2012 the Nottingham Pagan Network hosted the Family and Community Area. The area had information available on moots and events in across the country as well as activities for children including face painting and bracelet making.
